On Saturdays there is usually an Artist available for walk-ins, sometimes we try and do this on rotation which means there is a different Renaissance Artist tattooing every Saturday.
During the week, If an Artist has a free period available between appointments, he/she may be available to do a walk-in.
We do walk-ins on a first come, first served basis.
No we accept cash only.
The Tattooing of Minors Act (1969) States that: 'It shall be an offence to tattoo a person under the age of eighteen'.
Click here to read The Tattooing of Minors Act.
If you are under 18, please don’t expect to get tattooed because you think it’s OK if you have parental consent. It just isn’t going to happen!
You MUST be 18 years of age or above to get tattooed. We ONLY accept a driver's license or passport (both with photos) as proof, we accept nothing else (we will enter your driving license or passport number on a consultation form for our records). If you appear to be 21 years old or younger we will ask you to prove you are 18 years of age or above.
If you don't agree with the age law on tattooing, take it up with the Government, not us!
Our studio is immaculate, we clean and disinfect it meticulously, twice every day. We are fastidious about our routine and this even includes disinfecting the wheels of our chairs!
The NHS approached us for advice on tattoo hygiene for thier video 'things to know before getting a tattoo' that they filmed in our studio. You can watch it by clicking below:
Each Artist cleans his/her work area and seating throughly after each client and washes their hands with surgical soap before and after each client.
Typical workstation set up at Renaissance Tattoo, note how much of the equipment is either sealed in sterile bags or covered in plastic!
All our needles are single use; this means that they are brand new when they are opened in front of each client. We then destroy them in front of each client after their tattoo/piercing. All non-consumables are ultrasonically cleaned then bag-sealed before being sterilised, We break the seals on these bags in front of each client. If asked we will explain the process and show you the how the colour of the heat indicator has changed since pre-sterilisation. Our tattoo machines and machine cables are 'bagged' with new covers for each client, as are our power suppliies. Our inks are all single use and they are also disposed of in front of each client.
Our Reception Area
There is no legal age of consent for Body Piercing, and so it's perfectly legal for someone under the age of 18 to have a piercing as long as they have consented to it. We will not pierce the tongue or nipples of anyone under the age of 18 or the navel of anyone under the age of 16 so lease don't ask.
If you are under the age of 18 and you want to be pierced we require you to be accompanied by a parent or adult guardian We will ALWAYS ask to see your photo I.D with date of birth as proof of age.
